Date

Location

Little angels college of Management, Hattiban, Lalitpur Nepal

In my research project, "People's Perception on Home-Based Nursing Care System in Nepal," I conducted a qualitative analysis to explore public attitudes and expectations toward home-based nursing care. Using interviews with industry professionals and a review of various publications, I aimed to understand the perceived benefits and challenges of such services in the Nepali context. Findings revealed a generally positive perception of home-based nursing care, with respondents highlighting the personalized attention and comfort it provides, particularly for the elderly and those with chronic health conditions. Many valued the opportunity for increased family involvement, which they felt contributed positively to patients' emotional well-being. However, there were significant concerns regarding the accessibility and affordability of these services, especially in rural areas, where awareness and availability are limited. Additionally, cultural factors played a role in shaping perceptions, as family members are traditionally expected to take on caregiving roles. The research underscored a need for greater awareness and infrastructure support to make home-based nursing care a more feasible and accepted option in Nepal.
